Whiplash Syndrome Vertical

In a study of static and dynamic tests of seat / head restraint than 225 car models from 36 different brands within the international research group IIIWPG, with the aim of improving the designs of the backrests and head restraints in cars and to treat reduce the number of cervical lesions caused in traffic accidents, the Vehicle Research Institute, Center Zaragoza, property insurance, 23 Spanish and Portuguese, presents his conclusions:

Seat / head restraints tested, belonging to vehicles manufactured in 2008, 35% have obtained a grade of “Good”, 25% of “Fair”, 24% rating of “ineffective” and finally, 16 % rated ‘very inefficient.

In practice the test has been evaluated the performance of the seat and the forces acting on the neck in a collision with a change in velocity of 16 km / hour.
