Now there is a technology that friendly to the environment, name is Bluetec technology. It is based on the injection of an additive called AdBlue and that is an aqueous solution, not toxic that reduces nitrogen oxides.

The additive Adblue is stored in a tank compact special. After the exhaust gases have been cleaned by the action of the catalyst and the diesel particulate filter, a very precise adblue is injected for there to be ammonium. In the catalyst, the ammonium breaks the nitrogen oxide to generate nitrogen and water vapor, gases both of which are naturally present in the air we breathe.

This is a greatest innovative process, bluetec gets a reduction of nitrogen oxide of up to 80 percent. Bluetec, diesel engines cleaner of the world, a technology friendly to the environment without sacrificing benefits or pleasure of driving. In the United States, the models R, ML and GL were the first to introduce technology AdBlue.

Now it is the shift to Europe, where the same models R, ML and GL begin to be sold from September with the engine V6 diesel which provides 211 CV of power and is already prepared to comply with the rules of emissions Euro, which will not enter into force until 2014.
